Today is 11.1.11, a palindrome date. A palindrome, according to wikipedia, is a word, phrase, number or other sequence of units that can be read the same way in either direction.
John Grimond wrote last November in The Economist that 2011 was year of palindrome. It is true, we have 1/1/11, 11/1/11, 1/11/11 and the best one, 11/11/11!

But, why is 11 so special when talking about it? 11 is a prime number which has some special characteristics, look at it:


Also, in some cultures to read 11 repeated times is a sign of good luck.
